Welcome to the Learning Center

by Chelsea Matter

Welcome to THE HUMAN EXPERIMENT Learning Center! In this section of our site, we will write about the issues explored in our film – issues of environmental health (how exposures from our environment affect our health) and the fight for better chemical regulation. We will try to share the latest happenings on the policy front and the current research and findings from scientific studies on the health effects of chemical exposure. We will also post about progress and victories that are happening as activists continue to move the needle on this issue and we will share tips and simple solutions that everyone can follow to protect our health. We will also share news about the film as we continue to screen to new audiences around the country and world.

Mostly, this will be a place where members of THE HUMAN EXPERIMENT community and movement will share our own learning experiences with this issue as we strive to take steps to make the world safer for our health and the health of our children. We hope you will join us as we work together to stop The Human Experiment.

Why these products?

All of the products in our Safe Products Guides have been vetted by an independent advisory board consisting of scientists, green chemists, members of non-profit organizations working for safer chemicals and green product bloggers.

Our goal with creating these guides is to include products that are:

  1. Safe: Products that avoid known chemicals of concern
  2. Findable: Products that are widely available at stores or online via Vine.com
  3. Affordable: Products that can be found at all price points

We are not saying that these are the only safe products on the market. But we are saying that this is a good, simple place to start. Take the first step…Switch to Safer.
